Lydia was born into a family that favored boys over girls. To avoid the one-child policy, she lied to the outside world, claiming that she and her younger brother Leo were twins. Since childhood, she and her sister Lina suffered from unfair treatment, as all the good things were given to her brother. Later, she and Leo both took the college entrance exam.
