Gu Hao, after a fierce argument with his family, leaves home to prove himself. On his journey, a car accident leads him to mistakenly believe that Lin Xiyue is the one who saved and meticulously cared for him, when it was actually her sister, Lin Xixing. He subsequently marries Lin Xiyue. However, after marriage, Lin Xiyue constantly spends time with her male best friend, Lu Xuchen. Unfortunately, Gu Hao accidentally develops uremia and requires treatment. She and Lu Xuchen confront Gu Hao, also finding out he hired a personal caregiver. Incited by Lu Xuchen, Lin Xiyue strongly objects, deeming it a waste of money. Lin Xixing stands up for Gu Hao. Upon learning Gu Hao needs surgery costing 500,000, Lin Xiyue refuses to contribute a single penny, forcing Gu Hao to borrow the money himself.
