He Gave My Wedding Dress to His First Love

On our wedding day, Alaric put the gown I waited seven years for on his first love, Lenora—and told me to keep being his “sensible” Donna. I took off the ring, broke the contract, and returned to Silas, who had waited seven years for me. He wiped out Moretti overnight: docks seized, casinos raided, stores lost. Alaric knelt in church, begging. I took Silas’s hand and said, “I do.” Later, Alaric froze to death on the street. I held our daughter and never looked back.
