The Masked Father
After a devastating car accident, He Xiaojing clings to survival with her ""father,"" He Yong. Suffering from severe PTSD, she's sent by He Yong to live alone in a remote suburban complex, supposedly to overcome her trauma and reintegrate into society. However, once isolated, disturbing occurrences begin to escalate. Confronted with her fears, He Yong dismisses everything as mere hallucinations. The unexpected involvement of food delivery rider Ling Che starts to unravel the mystery. When He Xiaojing reports her ""father's"" disappearance to the police, a shocking revelation emerges: there's no official record of ""He Yong's"" existence, and even ""He Xiaojing's"" own name may be fabricated. Police theorize the ""father"" meticulously fabricated the entire charade to abandon her. Crushed by the belief she was an unwanted burden, He Xiaojing spirals into an emotional collapse. In her despair, horrifying visions assault her: the malevolent face behind the wheel during the crash was none other than ""He Yong."" She collapses. Plagued by relentless nightmares and inexplicable phenomena, He Xiaojing feels trapped, manipulated by unseen forces. Then, a buried truth resurfaces: Fang Xiaomo's violent alter personality regains its memory and recognizes Lin Yong as her father's killer. Years of suppressed rage erupt. In the ensuing chaos, she fatally stabs Lin Yong and, in a dissociative state, drags his body to a wasteland for burial. Ling Che's persistent probing slowly drags the buried crime into the light. Ultimately, supported by Fang Bin and Ling Che, Fang Xiaomo surrenders to the authorities. Following intensive therapy, her mental health stabilizes. Shedding the false identity of ""He Xiaojing,"" she embraces her true self, Fang Xiaomo, and steps toward a new beginning.
