Seven years. One overheard conversation. Quinn walked out without a scene — no tears, no confrontation. She cut up the wedding dress she'd secretly bought and boarded a midnight flight. Ethan was certain she'd come crawling back within three days. She didn't. What came instead: a man's low laugh on the other end of the line, and a voice that said — she's still asleep, I need to kiss her awake first. A story about the moment a woman stops waiting to be chosen, and starts choosing herself.
