Switched Souls
The overweight Xu Man disguises herself as a man early in the morning to take on a construction job, hoping to surprise her disabled husband, Wu Chi, on Valentine’s Day. She succeeds in getting hired, but her period arrives unexpectedly, staining her pants with blood and revealing her true gender. Since the employer insisted on hiring only men, she loses the job. Her friends urge her to stop being "PUA'd" by Wu Chi, whom they see as a useless cripple, but Xu Man—deeply in love—refuses to believe it. She insists that Wu Chi has stayed with her for five years despite her weight, and they even have a child together. Just as she feels hopeless, she witnesses Wu Chi standing upright and flirting with another woman—Zhou Yueyao, a wealthy socialite from Jiangcheng. Enraged, Xu Man realizes Wu Chi has been faking his disability for five years, using her as a mere servant. In a heated confrontation, the couple humiliates her further. As they try to leave, Xu Man, unwilling to let them go unpunished, clings to Zhou Yueyao and rushes into oncoming traffic. Despite Wu Chi’s attempts to stop her, Xu Man’s weight gives her the upper hand, resulting in both women’s deaths. When Xu Man wakes up in the hospital, she is shocked to find her soul has swapped with Zhou Yueyao’s—she now inhabits Yueyao’s body. Meanwhile, Wu Chi attempts to kill the comatose Xu Man (now in Yueyao’s original body), but "Yueyao" (Xu Man in Yueyao’s body) stops him. She takes custody of her former self, placing "her" in a high-end sanatorium, and begins her revenge. Soon, "Yueyao" learns she is set to marry Jiang Yu, a prominent heir, the next day. Wu Chi, now eager to marry into the Zhou family, pressures her for a wedding date. Seizing the opportunity, "Yueyao" devises a plan: she agrees to bring a lavish dowry to the Wu family while secretly arranging for Jiang Yu to pick her up from a different location. On the wedding day, "Yueyao" arrives at the Wu residence with a chest full of "money." Just as Wu Chi and his mother celebrate, Xu Man’s mother bursts in, declaring the marriage illegal—since Xu Man and Wu Chi are still legally married. Wu Chi insists Xu Man is dead, while Xu’s mother refuses to believe it. The argument escalates until "Yueyao" arrives with the dowry. Wu’s mother locks Xu’s mother inside, while Wu Chi steps out to meet "Yueyao." His eyes gleam at the sight of the chest—until "Yueyao" flings a handful of funeral money into the air, declaring it a tribute to her "best friend Xu Man," not for a "worthless freeloader" like him. Xu’s mother breaks free, horrified to hear of her daughter’s death. Chaos erupts until the real groom, Jiang Yu, arrives. Later, the real Zhou Yueyao awakens in the sanatorium, leading to a fierce battle over their true identities. Eventually, their souls return to their rightful bodies, and the story concludes with a happy ending.
