Flowers Blooming on the Ashes
Set amid the turbulent chaos of 1920s–1940s Shanghai during the Republic of China era, this drama follows Xu Yunchu, the heiress of the Xu Trading House, on her journey of rebirth, redemption, revenge, and self-growth. In her past life, Xu Yunchu fell prey to a deceitful false love. She regarded the malicious Chu Ruoxun as her one true love, even falling out with her own father for his sake. On her wedding day, she was murdered in a joint plot by Chu Ruoxun and her so-called best friend Su Huairu. With her last breath, she learned that her father had already been killed by the pair, and her entire family's business empire had been seized by them. Meanwhile, Gu Huaijin, the feared underworld kingpin known as the "Asura of Shanghai"—the man she had overlooked all her life—stormed the church alone to avenge her, slaying the murderers before taking his own life out of devotion. In her final moments, Xu Yunchu woke to bitter regret and swore she would marry no one but him in their next life.
