Set amid the turbulent chaos of 1920s–1940s Shanghai during the Republic of China era, this drama follows Xu Yunchu, the heiress of the Xu Trading House, on her journey of rebirth, redemption, revenge, and self-growth. In her past life, Xu Yunchu fell prey to a deceitful false love. She regarded the malicious Chu Ruoxun as her one true love, even falling out with her own father for his sake. On her wedding day, she was murdered in a joint plot by Chu Ruoxun and her so-called best friend Su Huairu.
