Seven Years A Doormat, Now I Leave

Everyone believed Bella Moss was Alec Hopkins's pathetic doormat — taking his drinks at banquets, taking a knife for him, and willingly serving as his lowliest secretary. In truth, she had only stayed close to Alec because he was a stand-in for her late lover, Dean Hopkins, and to fulfill Dean's dying wish: to look after Alec for seven years. Throughout those seven years, Alec indulged Emma Gill, allowing her to humiliate and torment Bella at will. From death-defying street races to high-altitude skydives, Bella put her life on the line for him time and time again. Yet by the time Alec belatedly realized his feelings for her, Bella had already reached her breaking point, determined to walk away for good.
