The Chairman of Longteng Group, Ryan, spared no expense in hiring domestic and international education experts to cultivate his son, Ian, as the heir to the company. Ryan's efforts paid off during the first phase of Ian's education, and he decided to have Ian experience a life of poverty, believing it would teach him resilience. Ian's university girlfriend, Cynthia, married him after graduation, and they worked together to build their future. However, due to his father's arrangements, Ian struggled and ended up as a delivery driver, unable to achieve any success. On the other hand, with Ryan's help, Cynthia grew her career and founded the C Group, which caused her to harbor resentment towards Ian’s failures. In order to further her business, Cynthia formed a partnership with the S family, one of the four major families. Sky (the antagonist) took a liking to Cynthia, both for her ability and her charm, and deliberately sowed discord between her and Ian. Under the guise of helping Longteng Group's development, Cynthia recruited their investment. At the Longteng Group’s bidding conference, Ian, desperate to save his marriage, confronted Cynthia with his father, only to be humiliated and mocked by Sky. Just as things seemed hopeless, Ryan's subordinate, Phoenix, intervened. Sky analyzed the situation and concluded that Ian could never be the successor to Longteng Group. Phoenix’s help came because of internal power struggles within Longteng Group. Sky, aiming to pursue Cynthia, invited her to the successor ceremony known as the ‘Longxiao Banquet.’ At the Longxiao Banquet, Ryan imparted crucial lessons to Ian, molding him into the person he envisioned. Meanwhile, Ian and Cynthia’s relationship came to an end with the banquet, marking the close of an era.
