Jaycob stumbled home, inebriated and ranting at Kathleen for stopping him from being with Joanna years ago. He accused her of costing him the chance to become the son-in-law of the wealthiest man. When Jeremy returned to the company, he found out that Kathleen’s son Jaycob was dating Joanna, and that the Jackson family was one of the company’s partners. As a result, he quietly instructed his assistant to help the Jackson family.
At a banquet, Kathleen was humiliated, and Jeremy stood up for his wife with authority, yet he concealed his identity as the world’s richest man. It wasn’t until the end that Jeremy revealed his true identity, and he and Kathleen lived happily ever after.
