Stolen Breath
Catherine "Cathy" Daniels is diagnosed with terminal stomach cancer and given only three months to live. Yet her family refuses to believe her—her cruel mother-in-law, Margaret Shaw, verbally abuses her, her cheating husband, Lucas Shaw, violently turns on her when she catches him in the act, and her cold-hearted son, Liam Shaw, watches indifferently as she suffers. At the last moment, Liam hesitates, and Daniel catches Margaret in the act, leading to her arrest. With her remaining strength, Cathy names Natalie and Daniel’s son, Chris, as the insurance beneficiaries, begging Daniel to protect her daughter. He agrees. On a quiet, sunlit afternoon, Cathy passes away, her final words of love and warning whispered to Natalie.
