A Mother's Courage
I was shopping at the mall with the demolition compensation from my hometown house. My husband begged me desperately to save our daughter, but I refused without hesitation. I turned around and bought expensive items instead. My husband and daughter were shocked, saying that the money was more than enough to cover our daughter's medical treatment. They asked me why I would do such a thing. I replied, "Everyone has their own fate. Whether my daughter lives or dies has nothing to do with me." My husband was deeply disappointed in me, and the neighbors all criticized me, calling me heartless for not using the demolition money to save my daughter's life. My daughter, however, spoke up for me, portraying herself as pitiful and loving, which made the onlookers and neighbors turn their criticism toward me. Yet, I remained unmoved and went off to get a beauty treatment. My husband, provoked by my attitude, called me a monster. Our daughter, unable to handle the stress, fell from her wheelchair and fainted, being rushed to the hospital. While I was getting my beauty treatment, the hospital called me, asking me to come and pay for our daughter's surgery. They said she was in critical condition and without the surgery, it would be her last chance to see her. I said I would come to the hospital immediately. My husband and daughter were overjoyed, thinking that she would be saved. However, when I arrived at the hospital, it wasn't to pay for the surgery but to see our daughter one last time. Our daughter, devastated by the shock, passed away. I left without looking back. The internet was flooded with scorn and condemnation directed at me, but I remained calm, waiting for the truth to come out and shock everyone. A family mediation program called to invite me to appear on their show, and I agreed without hesitation. On the day of the program, I watched as my husband held our daughter's ashes and cried on stage. The audience sided with him,骂声不断 (constantly hurling insults). When the host introduced me, all the lights and attention turned to me. I stepped onto the stage, and the truth was about to be revealed.
