The matchmaking system helps me find love with a nine-tailed fox spirit
Zheng Cheng was an ordinary office worker, perpetually stressed about punching the clock and meeting performance targets. Never in his wildest dreams did he imagine that one blink would thrust him into the bizarre "Global Supernatural Matchmaking Tournament." In this eerie realm teeming with malevolent energy, the slightest misstep by the chosen representatives of various nations could lead to a gruesome death. At this life-or-death juncture, a peculiar "Paranormal Romance System" activated in his mind—not to teach him combat skills or grant him mystical powers, but to compel him to choose and win the heart of one among the many supernatural beings. Gritting his teeth, Zheng Cheng selected Su Meier, a rare and powerful supernatural being, akin to top-tier in gaming terms—a nine-tailed ghost fox whose alluring gaze concealed layers of deadly intent.
While others relied on sweet talk or elaborate schemes, Zheng Cheng knew that deceiving a fox demon was a surefire way to seal your fate. He decided to stake everything on sincerity. Awkwardly, he shielded her from ambushes, and when suspicion clouded her eyes, he laid all his cards on the table with unflinching honesty. He'd rather suffer losses than resort to deceit. At first, Su Meier found his naivety laughable, but over time, his clumsy yet genuine devotion melted the icy barriers around her heart, which had been frozen for millennia.
The "Truth or Dare" challenge was even more perilous, requiring contestants to identify ten mythical creatures described in *an ancient Chinese text chronicling mythical creatures and landscapes, the Classic of Mountains and Seas,* amidst a web of illusions. While other nations' representatives met tragic ends due to arrogance, deceit, or selfishness, Zheng Cheng relied on the system's knowledge base to calmly recognize creatures like the Bo, the Bifang, and the Luo Fish. Together with Su Meier, he navigated the ordeal unscathed. However, an unexpected twist arose in the final trial: Su Meier, sensing a fatal trap, unilaterally shortened the challenge's seven-day timeline to just three days, risking everything to ensure his safety.
Under the watchful gaze of the spirits, the two exchanged vows, their unwavering sincerity earning the approval of the divine. Zheng Cheng successfully completed the challenge and returned to the real world with Su Meier by his side. China's fortunes soared to new heights, symbolized by a golden dragon rising. Yet, before he could catch his breath, the system's notification chimed again: "A new romance challenge awaits: Yin Zijiao, a rare and enchanting mermaid." Clutching Su Meier's hand tightly, Zheng Cheng let out a laugh mixed with exasperation—this paranormal love saga was far from over.
