During a family health check-up, the hospital mixed up the medical records of Hannah, the mother-in-law, and Clare, the daughter-in-law. This caused Hannah, who was suffering from stomach cancer, to mistakenly believe she was in good health, while Clare was diagnosed with cancer. Meanwhile, knowing the truth, Clare stumbled upon evidence that her husband, Jere, was having an affair. Both Hannah and Jere showed little interest in seeking treatment for her condition. Upon returning home, Hannah prepared spicy dishes, hoping to hasten Clare's departure. In a state of despair, Clare decided to turn the tables. Using this to her advantage, Clare orchestrated a banquet after Kyra's return, where Hannah agreed to sell her house as a gift for Kyra. Clare promised that at the upcoming birthday party, Hannah would receive her share of the inheritance. However, on the day of the birthday celebration, Clare announced that it had been postponed. Frustrated, Hannah's health took a turn for the worse. When she was taken to the hospital, Clare's prior arrangements ensured that no one recognized her illness. Homeless and desperate, Hannah and Jere moved in with the mistress, Lexi. They soon faced further trouble when Davin tracked them down and forced Hannah to drink an entire bottle of chili water. Finally, the day of the birthday party arrived. Hannah and Jere attended, excited for the event, only for Kyra to announce that the entire inheritance would be donated. At the same time, Lexi appeared, announcing her intention to divorce Jere. Overwhelmed and upset, Hannah was hospitalized again, and this time she finally discovered the truth about her illness. Hannah urged Jere to divorce Lexi so he could use her assets to pay for her treatment. Anticipating this move, Clare and Lexi teamed up, bringing in theater actors to tempt Jere. Once again, Jere fell into their trap, willingly divorcing Hannah and leaving with nothing. Ultimately, both Jere and Hannah ended up empty-handed. Jere was dragged away by Davin and beaten, while Hannah, suffering from late-stage stomach disease, was consumed by regret.
