The Burning Apron Divorce
At dinner, the wife serves her stepdaughter Lin Xiaoning a chicken drumstick, but her husband Lin Xiuwen erupts, accusing her of favoritism. She counters with receipts showing she spoiled Lin Xiaoning while neglecting herself and Mao Jiale. They dismiss her proof, and Lin Xiuwen threatens divorce. Finally, she snaps, exposing their hypocrisy: Her mother-in-law gave Lin Xiuwen property and funds, and they’d schemed to manipulate the sister-in-law’s marriage. The revelation triggers a violent family meltdown.
