The Red Ribbon Curse
Erhua finds a red silk ribbon on her way home and keeps it out of greed. Little does she know — the ribbon is cursed. When she ties it around her neck, it nearly strangles her. Dazhu saves her just in time. Seeing the marks on her neck, her grandfather presses her for the truth. He warns her the ribbon is an evil object, but Erhua refuses to believe him. Soon, terrifying paranormal incidents begin to haunt her — all linked to the red ribbon. Her grandfather orders her to throw it away. He recognizes it was used for hanging in ghost weddings. Blinded by greed, Erhua thinks he's just trying to scare her. She tries everything to keep the ribbon. Then she attracts a paper spirit and trips over the ribbon while trying to run away. Still unrepentant, she sneaks into the woods to retrieve the ribbon. A mad old woman blocks her path and urges her to flee. Dismissing the woman as insane, Erhua stubbornly takes the ribbon home again. And the eerie occurrences strike once more. Terrified, Erhua turns to her grandfather and Dazhu for help. Her grandfather tries countless rituals, but nothing stops the hauntings. Greed still consumes Erhua. Protected by her grandfather, she finds a key in a graveyard. It unlocks a sealed door in an old mansion. The moment she enters the room, supernatural terrors overwhelm her. She falls ill. Then she is abducted to the old mansion — and finally learns the truth. The mad old woman is behind everything.
